LEGAL
Privacy policy
Last updated: 4 November 2026
This privacy policy informs you which personal data are processed when you visit www.digitice.io, for what purpose and on what legal basis. We use the terms as defined in the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
1. Controller
The controller responsible for data processing on this website is:
digitice GbROsterstraße 102
20259 Hamburg
Germany
Email: info@digitice.io
We have not appointed a data protection officer, as we are not legally required to do so. For any questions about data protection, you can reach us at info@digitice.io.
2. Key points at a glance
- This website does not set cookies and does not use tracking that follows you across websites.
- There is no embedded content from social media services, no contact forms and no newsletter sign-up form.
- Fonts and icons are loaded from our own server, not from third-party providers.
- We process personal data only where this is technically necessary to operate the website or where you contact us on your own initiative.
3. Hosting and server log files
This website is hosted by Hetzner Online GmbH, Industriestr. 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, Germany. Hetzner processes the data exclusively on our behalf and on servers in the European Union. We have concluded a data processing agreement with Hetzner pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR.
Each time a page is accessed, technical data transmitted by your browser are recorded automatically:
- IP address of the requesting device
- date and time of access
- page or file accessed and amount of data transferred
- status code of the request (e.g. successful, not found)
- browser type and version, operating system
- referrer URL (the previously visited page), if transmitted
These data are required to deliver the website, to ensure its stability and security and to fend off attacks. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; our legitimate interest lies in the secure and error-free operation of the website. The log files are deleted after 30 days, unless they are needed for longer to investigate a specific security incident. The data are not combined with other data.
4. Audience measurement without cookies
To understand which content is used, we use the open-source software Umami. We run Umami ourselves on our server at Hetzner (section 3). The data are not passed on to third parties, including the maker of the software. Umami does not set cookies and does not store anything on your device. Your IP address is not stored. It is only processed briefly in memory when a page is accessed, to determine the country and to create an anonymous, regularly changing count value for visits. Only aggregated values such as page views, referring pages, browser, device type and country are evaluated. No profiles of individual visitors are created, and visitors are not recognised over longer periods or across other websites. The website has no login; statistical data are not linked to information about you as a person.
The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; our legitimate interest lies in improving our offering on the basis of anonymous usage statistics. A separate data processing agreement is not required because we run Umami ourselves. The agreement with Hetzner applies to the server.
5. Contact by email
If you email us, we process your email address, your name (if provided) and the content of your message in order to answer your enquiry. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR if your enquiry relates to a contract or pre-contractual measures, otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in answering enquiries). We delete the data as soon as the enquiry has been dealt with in full and no statutory retention obligations prevent deletion.
6. Appointment booking via Google Calendar
To arrange a conversation, we link to an appointment booking page on Google Calendar. The page is only loaded when you click ‘Book a conversation’. From that point on, Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland, processes your data; this may involve a transfer to the USA. Google is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
If you book an appointment, we receive the details you enter there (in particular your name, email address, the selected time slot and your message). We use these data only to prepare for and hold the conversation. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (pre-contractual measures at your request). We delete the data when they are no longer required for this purpose and no statutory retention obligations apply. You can find out which data Google itself processes at https://policies.google.com/privacy.
Instead of booking online, you can also ask us for an appointment by email at any time.
7. Links to LinkedIn
On our website we link to the LinkedIn profiles of digitice.io and our partners. These are simple links, not embedded plugins. No data are therefore transferred to LinkedIn when you visit our website. Only when you click a link are you taken to the LinkedIn website; the privacy notice of LinkedIn Ireland Unlimited Company applies there (https://www.linkedin.com/legal/privacy-policy).
8. AI Radar
The content of the AI Radar is created with the support of AI from publicly available studies and published as static pages. Reading the AI Radar involves no processing of personal data beyond the server log files (section 3) and audience measurement (section 4). Your data are not used to train AI models.
9. Encryption
For security reasons, this website uses SSL or TLS encryption. You can recognise an encrypted connection by ‘https://’ in your browser's address bar.
10. Your rights
You have the following rights against us with regard to the personal data concerning you:
- right of access (Art. 15 GDPR)
- right to rectification (Art. 16 GDPR)
- right to erasure (Art. 17 GDPR)
- right to restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
- right to data portability (Art. 20 GDPR)
- right to withdraw consent given, with effect for the future (Art. 7(3) GDPR)
To exercise your rights, an informal message to info@digitice.io is sufficient.
Right to object under Art. 21 GDPR
Where we process data on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, you have the right to object to this processing at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation. We will then no longer process the data, unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds for the processing which override your interests, or the processing serves the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims.
11. Right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority
You have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. The authority responsible for us is the Hamburg Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (Der Hamburgische Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit), Ludwig-Erhard-Straße 22, 20459 Hamburg (https://datenschutz-hamburg.de).
12. No automated decision-making
No automated decision-making, including profiling, within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR takes place.
13. Changes
We update this privacy policy when the website or the services used change or when legal requirements make this necessary. The version published here at any given time applies.
